Deer oh deer.........

If it wasn't for our heroine Selma the whole nursery could have looked like these poor grapes, in the middle of the night she heard something woke us up and barged into the garden, and scared away that deer in mid action............ the gate had been left open............

Cute Cozy Cabin

Or rather Cute Cozy Caravan,
see the new shower stall, as built by Jodi and Nel ( and a little bit me : digging the holes ), and the new front deck built by me , it's a miracle , I know.

So now we are ready for the multitudes, this weekend we have our first visitors, yahoo.............

Bruce the Mighty

Here's .......................Brucey !

And Jodi of course,
she's quite taken with this new guy, he's about two years old, and he is our new foster dog, quite a darling, loves to cuddle and already had his first mishap when he walked into our pond, duckweed all over his face , in Boskoop that would be a 'krooskoppie' and he would classify as a Boskoper !

That was the day that could have............

Been glorious, juggled the market between Jodi , Nel and me ,
so I could watch those glorious Oranges being victorious , but no the Oranges were squashed by those darned Ruskies,( now I know how it feels for the Canadians losing to those darned Russians) ,oh well , I suppose they were better ( by a mile ).

Well that is a weird Primula, a lovely Poppy and a hummingbird taking a break .

Day oooff

Yep, day off, from now on until September ,Monday's will be my day of leisure, ooooff, so off to Ford's Cove we went, where the store is being revamped and we held court on the deck ( well there's a first ), coffee and a lemon cake , very good.

And then a little stroll up and down the dock, and a further stroll to the beaver pond, Tashi has been limping badly for a week now, poor thing , no running and only short walks.

Rain...

A nice rainy night,
everything is heavy with water, quite beautiful and that Magnolia is so sweet. Whereas that Corokia is so weird.

Greenhouse maintance 101

There are two disadvantages of having a greenhouse near the woods,
falling and flying branches poke holes in the cover , and in spring there is a lot of pollen on the plastic which makes the greenhouse a little too dark , you know those tomatoes and cukes need all the sun they can get, so on a good and rainy day I go out in my wellies and raincoat , duct tape a broom on the end of my extension pole and ..............scrub ,scrub, scrub...Fun !

Oh Magnolia !

Magnolia sieboldii .

Snakes again. And tadpoles.

The big pond dried very rapidly,
big problem for the hundreds of tadpoles, Jodi went on a rescue mission, and saved many , so our ( lined ) pond is pretty full now, more frog choruses next spring.

This a photo send to me by a customer,
the snakes were trying to get warm, so cute.
