Harry Otter

That was quite the surprise, an otter in the pond ,
in all the excitement I forgot to check the setting on the camera , so the pics are a little fuzzy , any way Harry was having a lot of fun , diving , rolling and eating ,and after he caught my scent, leaving slowly and with dignity.

Stormy weather.

Am sure glad not to have a nursery in Florida,
we've had a lot of wind the last few days and I spend every time 20 minutes or more raising the blown over plants,
big hassle.

My , my , hey , hey..........look at all those boats in the bay

That's that old Neil Young song,
last Sunday I counted more than 60 boats in Tribune bay, but then it is B.C. 's nicest beach, according to some.
And this is Ligularia dentata 'Othello'

Fried egg plant.

A rather unfortunate name for a gorgeous and elusive marvel, Romneya coulterii ,near impossible to propagate , the story goes, collect seed , wrap in aluminum foil , put in metal bucket filled with straw, light a smoldering fire to break the dormancy of the seed and hope for the best ,
or dig out some roots and -again - hope for the best.

Just look at it......

Yep ,
greenhouse is full again, next years bounty ( with a bit of luck ) , most things propagated well, just the usual suspects not, so Grevillea , Clematis and that new sensational Lonicera from the bakery remain dicey, and a few mouldy affairs, but pretty good in general.
How about this Cephalaria, 6 ft tall, Scabiosa like.

And here's mr. Owl again, pretending to be a swallow.
