A rather unfortunate name for a gorgeous and elusive marvel, Romneya coulterii ,near impossible to propagate , the story goes, collect seed , wrap in aluminum foil , put in metal bucket filled with straw, light a smoldering fire to break the dormancy of the seed and hope for the best ,
or dig out some roots and -again - hope for the best.
